Set in the Napa Valley this musical tells the love story of an older Italian wine maker and his young wife, a San Francisco waitress, whom he courts through letters accompanied with a picture of his handsome vineyard foreman. Loesser tells this tale of loneliness, longing, betrayal, and forgiveness through 22 dynamic songs, including, 'Standing on the Corner', 'Joey, Joey', and 'Big D'. The story is touching and the music beautiful.
