For the second event of Novato Theater Company’s 2021 Season, Bay Area vocalists, Dani and Julie, shared their favorite songs in a delightful Cabaret to benefit NTC.

Daniela (Dani) Innocenti Beem and Julie Ekoue-Totou performed The Dynamic Duet “It’s All Right”, NTC’s second virtual event of 2021.

Dani and Julie have been singing together for almost 30 years in various musical theatre, cabaret and concert-style evenings. Ten years ago, they, along with Musical Director extraordinaire and good friend Pat Parr, they decided to create their very own show, which resulted in an immediate smash playing to sold-out houses and standing ovations wherever they went. Producer, Marilyn Izdebski says, “Combining their incredible voices with their joy of singing together, Dani and Julie take you on a journey of beautiful melodies, soaring harmonies and ‘belt-tastic’ acrobatics, giving you a very special experience that you won’t soon forget.”

THE PERFORMERS

Daniela (Dani) Innocenti Beem is a multiple award- winning actress and Bay Area favorite. Dani most recently took home the Theater Bay Area Award for her work as Paulette in Marin Musical Theatre Company’s Legally Blonde. Before COVID broke, she was last seen on the stage as Mrs. Lovett in 6th Street Playhouse’s Sweeney Todd, Ethel Merman in Sonoma Arts Live Merman’s Apprentice and Magenta in MMTC’s The Rocky Horror Show.

Julie Ekoue-Totou can be heard belting out tunes at fundraisers, gala events and performing musicals. She most recently played Kate in Pirates of Penzance and Effie in The Spitfire Grill. When Julie’s not acting or singing, she is a full-time hairdresser and mother.

Jake Gale is the Musical Director for Dynamic Duet “It’s All Right.” Gale, hailing from Old Blighty itself, is an actor and Musical Director based out of San Francisco. He was the Musical Director for Tommy (NTC) & Spring Awakening (MMTC/NTC) which won a TBA award. Recent Musical Directing credits include She Loves Me (RVP/Mountain Play), and Guys and Dolls (MMTC). He was last at NTC on stage as Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, a TBA Award Finalist. Other acting credits include Dr. Frank-n-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show (MMTC), Harold Bride in Titanic (42nd Street Moon), Svec in Once (42nd Street Moon), and Nicky/Trekkie in Avenue Q (NCTC).

…and Special Guest, Ashley Kimball, violinist, NTC actor and musician, and Creative Director of North Bay Theatrics.
